Clarence Valley Council is a local government area of approximately 10,441 square kilometres in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales. It has a population density of 0.05 persons per hectare (as at 2019 Census date). It is located approximately 600 kilometres north of Sydney CBD and 300 kilometres south of Brisbane CBD.


Clarence Valley includes the coastal plain and lower valleys of the Clarence and Nymboida rivers. It consists mainly of agricultural land, and the popular holiday resorts of Yamba and Iluka.
