    Groote Eylandt and Bickerton Island Enterprises Aboriginal Corporation (GEBIE) is the business arm of the Anindilyakwa Land Council. It was incorporated in December 2001 with the aim of assisting the indigenous residents of Groote Eylandt and Bickerton Island in developing their own enterprises and business schemes. GEBIE has also been charged with the task of representing the people of the two islands in matters connected to their 'social, economic or finanical well being' (GEBIE website).

    Together with the Anindilyakwa Land Council and the Groote Eylandt Mining Company (GEMCO), GEBIE is a signatory to the Groote Eylandt and Bickerton Island Enterprises (GEBIE) Memorandum of Understanding, which was signed on 16 August 2005. A link to this Memorandum has been included below.

    GEBIE was also involved in the development of the Dugong Beach Resort with the assistance of the Anindilyakwa Land Council and ILC Land Management in 2007.
