The Jali Local Aboriginal Land Council (Jali LALC) operates from Ballina in northern New South Wales. In cooperation with the Ballina Shire Council, the Jali LALC has established a framework and procedures for identifying and protecting sites of significance to the Ballina Shire Aboriginal people. Such procedures were used as a model for some of the commitments set out in the Local Agreement between the Cowra Shire Council and Cowra Indigenous People.
