| Meeting Challenges, Making Choices (MCMC) is the Queensland State Government's policy response to the Fitzgerald Cape York Justice Study which was published in 2001. | The MCMC project was released in April 2002 with the aim of improving the quality of life in Queensland's Indigenous communities via a range of reforms. These reforms focus on eight priority areas as determined in consultation with Queensland's Indigenous communities. These are: 1. Alcohol, substance abuse and rehabilitation; 2. Children, youth and families; 3. Crime and justice; 4. Governance; 4. Economic development; 6. Health; 7. Education and training; and 8. Land and sustainable natural resource management. The overall aim of the strategy is to facilitate community capacity and develop locally-based solutions with specific regard to improving the health and well-being of those living in Indigenous communities. | ||
