The Australian Gas Light Company Agreement was settled in 1997 after nine months of negotiations with the Wiradjuri and Wonngaibon communities from Dubbo, Narromine, Peak Hill, Parkes, Forbes and West Wyalong. The agreement allows a gas pipeline to be built in central New South Wales. The pipeline, expected to cost (AUD) $55 million, will be 255 kilometres long and run from Marsden to Dubbo. Its route will avoid sites of cultural significance. |
