The Mount Hotham Airport Agreement is an agreement between Gippsland’s Gunai/Kurnai peoples, the Victorian Government and Mount Hotham Skiing Company. It will allow an airport to be built 1,310 metres up Mount Hotham in north-east Victoria. The native title holders agree to waive part of their native title claim in the area and in return Indigenous people of the area will receive jobs and a guarantee that their cultural heritage will be respected. |
