Summary Information:
The Association of Mining and Exploration Companies (Inc) (AMEC) was formed in 1981 to provide the mineral exploration and mining industry with a dedicated lobby capacity. AMEC seeks to create an economic and political climate in which Australia’s mineral exploration and mining industry will be able to prosper and realise its full potential, for the benefit of all Australians. AMEC comprises more than 52 exploration and mining companies, 88 organisations that provide goods and services to all sectors of the mining industry and 51 individual members, making it the only association of its kind in Australia to provide representation to every sector of the industry. Membership of a mining industry association has become a virtual necessity for successful mineral exploration and for mining companies.
