The Alukura (Arlwekere) is an Aboriginal women's community-controlled health and birthing centre. It incorporates women's law, language and culture into a primary health care model.
Alukura's main activities include:
- Antenatal, birthing, postnatal care and education;
- Women's checks and information;
- Aboriginal Health Worker education;
- Co-ordination of Alukura Council;
- Transport service;
- Limited bush service; and
- Policy development.
Congress Alukura is part of the umbrella organisation of the Central Australian Aboriginal Congress (Congress). |
