Summary Information:
Greater Shepparton, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, covers an area of 2,421.9 square kilometres, and is the fourth largest provincial centre in Victoria. It has a well developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as the 'Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria’s agricultural production is generated in this area, with an estimated output value in the vicinity of (AUD)$2.5 billion. Major secondary industries in Greater Shepparton are mainly related to food processing, manufacturing and transport.
