The Queensland Mining Council is a non-government organisation representing the interests of companies that explore, produce and process minerals. It is the industry's policy making body and works with all levels of government and community organisations. The Council was formed in 1991 as a result of the merger between the Queensland Chamber of Mines and the Queensland Coal Association. Since November 2003, the organisation has been known as the Queensland Resources Council.
