	The Agreement area of about 2509 square kilometres is located south-east of Mount Isa and is comprised of EPM11489, EPM11692, EPM11795, EPM11938, EPM11990, EPM11991, EPM12180, EPM12193, EPM12206, EPM12209, EPM12216, EPM12395, EPM12499, EPM12738, EPM12917 and part of EPM12208. The Agreement area falls within the Mount Isa City Council, Boulia Shire Council and Cloncurry Shire Council local government areas.

Summary Information:
In the Kalkadoon and Yulluna Peoples Joint Indigenous Land Use Agreement for Backlog Exploration Permits, the Kalkadoon and Yulluna Peoples have agreed to the grant of Exploration Permits (EPs) by the State of Queensland. The right to negotiate provisions of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) do not apply to these grants. This will enable the backlog of applications for tenements in the agreement area made to the State by grantees to be processed without requiring the longer timeframes of the right to negotiate process that would otherwise apply. EPs may be granted to an 'Explorer' for an initial period up to 5 years, subject to a set of 'Native Title Conditions' specified in the agreement and provided that the Explorer has paid the compensation amount required under the agreement. On being granted a tenement, the grantees may conduct 'Exploration Activities' in the area. Explorers may renew an EP but it remains subject to the same conditions as in the initial period.
