Summary Information:
The Yukon Transboundary Agreement between Canada and the Gwich段n Tribal Council forms Appendix C of the Gwich段n Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement. The Agreement sets out the rights of the Tetlin Gwich段n in Yukon. Tetlin Gwich段n refers to Gwich段n who reside in the Peel River watershed, or who are descendants from such a person. The Agreement provides for the transfer of 1554 square kilometres of land to Tetlin Gwich段n. Legal ownership is vested in the Gwich段n Tribal Council. The Yukon lands designated in the Agreement combine with Northwest Territories lands to form the Gwich段n Settlement Region.
