| The North Peace Tribal Council is a representative body which was established in 1987 by the Little Red River Cree, Dene Tha’, Tall Cree and Beaver First Nations. 1995 saw the Lubicorn Lake Nation join as a member.  The mandate of the Council is threefold.  It exists to:
	Provide a political forum for the policy and decision making of  member First Nations;
	Combine efforts to address issues, resolve problems and develop economies; and
	Provide resources and support for the provision of professional advisory services to member First Nations. 
The Council is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of a Chairperson and the Chiefs of member First Nations. The issues addressed by the Council include health, education, children’s and technical services, police and employment. |
