Summary Information:
The Gau Land Trust is a Torres Strait Islander Land Trust established to hold land granted under the Torres Strait Islander Land Act 1991 (Qld). The Trust holds land for the benefit of Torres Strait Islander people, their ancestors and descendants. It is required to comply with the administrative and financial requirements of the Torres Strait Islander Land Regulation 1991 (Qld). The land held by the Trust comprises five parcels of former Torres Strait Islander reserve land and former DOGIT land.
