Summary Information:
The Lands Acqusition Act 1978 (NT) is 'an Act relating to the acquisition of land by the Territory' (long title). The Act includes provisions for entry on to land (Part III), pre-acquisition procedures (Part IV), the acquisition of land (Part V) and compensation payable (Part VII). All acquisitions of land made under the Act are to be 'on just terms' (s. 5).
