Summary Information: | |
In 2005 the Murdi Paaki Regional Council signed two 'Engaging with Governments' Shared Responsibility Agreements (SRAs) to provide help to Community Working Parties (CWPs). CWPs were set up through the 2003 Murdi Paaki Shared Responsibility Agreement to represent the views of local Indigenous communities. The first of the 'Engaging with Governments' SRAs provides for information technology support to CWPs in the Murdi Paaki Region.
Shared Responsibility Agreements are agreements between governments and Indigenous communities to provide discretionary funding in return for community obligations. The new arrangements developed from an initiative of the Council of Australian Governments and replace the previous ATSIC system of funding. For more information see ‘Shared Responsibility Agreement’ below. |
