PCYC is a statewide partnership between young people, the community and the NSW Police Service working to assist young people to develop the qualities to be responsible citizens and leaders and to avoid becoming offenders or victims of crime. The history of Police and Citizens Youth Clubs dates back to 1937, when the first 'Police Boys Club' was established. The clubs were formed to provide a place where young people could engage in healthy sporting, cultural and recreational pursuits and mix in a safe, non-confrontational environment. Since that time, the clubs have expanded to include female members.
There are now 55 Police and Citizens Youth Clubs throughout New South Wales. |
