The Bowraville Community Alliance (BCA) was established by members of Bowraville Aboriginal, Educational, Economic and Community Groups in order to discuss local issues with a view to helping create a better future.
To do this, the BCA is managing a strategic planning process for Bowraville with the following objective: "To have the Bowraville community decide and document what it wants for the future in terms of social, cultural, environmental and economic development and to develop a strategic plan to enable that vision to become a reality."
Current members of the BCA include: MiiMi Mothers Aboriginal Corporation, Bowraville Central School, Bowraville Chamber of Commerce, Aboriginal Lands Council, the Police and Nambucca Shire Council. The BCA has been supported by Bowraville Community Technology Centre, Theatre Restoration Committee, Bowraville Jockey Club, Phoenix, Central School ASSPA Committee and the Bowraville Museum Committees.
The BCA’s objective is that this should be an inclusive community process and everyone is welcome to get involved and have their say. The BCA’s regular meetings are held in true community spirit based on the principles of recognition, respect, responsibility and resilience.' |
