| The Mining Agreement is a template Future Act Agreement provided by the National Native Title Tribunal (NNTT).
It is envisaged by the NNTT that these agreements will be used to assist Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians to negotiate Future Act Agreements that can be tailored to their specific needs and circumstances.
The Mining Agreement is designed to be used for negotiations between a native title party and an applicant for a Mining Lease.
The template agreement covers matters including:
(a) areas of significance to the native title party and relating to the possible discovery of cultural items;
(b) that the native title party will receive regular reports detailing the amount of certain materials taken from the agreement area; and
(c) dispute resolution procedures. |
