| The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) is a representative body whose purpose is to organise and advance the interests of mine, construction and energy workers.
NUM is one of several organisations that helped to develop the Broad-Based Socio-Economic Empowerment Charter for the South African Mining Industry.
In addition, NUM is signatory to the Construction Sector Charter on Black Economic Empowerment.
