| The purpose of the Ngati Awa Claims Settlement Act 2005 (NZ) is to 'record the acknowledgements and apology given by the Crown to Ngati Awa in the Ngati Awa deed of settlement dated 27 March 2003 ... [and] to give effect to ... the Ngati Awa deed of settlement ... [and] the ancillary deeds of settlement, which are deeds that settle the ancillary claims' (s 3).
