The Tjupan Ngalia Agreement was reached between the Tjupan Ngalia native title claimants and the Austquip, Hawkslade and Fangio mining companies. The Tjupan Ngalia claimants in Western Australia agreed to assist the companies in fast-tracking the granting of tenements. The Tjupan Ngalia agreed to fast-track the future act process on the condition that the companies have regard to Aboriginal culture, employment, training, and business enterprise opportunities.
The agreement gave the companies confidence to expand their exploration activities in the north-west goldfields and set standards for their dealing with the Tjupan Ngalia people. |
