Summary Information:
The South Australian National Football League (SANFL) was established in 1877 under the name 'South Australian Football Association'. It licences the two South Australian AFL teams (Adelaide and Port Adelaide Football Clubs), manages the SANFL competition which has nine clubs, and the community football league which has 270 teams in South Australia.
