Summary Information:
The objective of the Fisheries (Freshwater) Management Plan 1999 (Qld) is to provide for the use, conservation and enhancement of the community’s freshwater fish resources in a way that promotes ecologically sustainable development. The Management Plan restricts the fishing apparatus that may be used to take freshwater fish, imposes requirements for fish stocking, manages commercial eel fishery and prevents the inappropriate release of fish in freshwater.
