Together with the Jangerie Jangerie people, the Djaku-nde people have applied for a determination of native title in the Federal Court of Australia over specific areas in central Queensland in the proceeding QUD6009 of 2000. Their application has been registered, and remains active. The Djaku-nde people are also party to the Djaku-nde & Jangerie Jangerie & Wakka Wakka People & QGC Pty Ltd (Balance Area) Indigenous Land Use Agreement, which was registered with the National Native Title Tribunal on 1 November 2010.
