Summary Information:
The Yintjingga Land Trust is an Aboriginal Land Trust established to hold land granted in 1992 under the Aboriginal Land Act 1991 (Qld) (Memmott and McDougall, AIATSIS Website). The Trust, comprised of Lamalama people as trustees, holds land for the benefit of Aboriginal people, their ancestors and descendants (Memmott and McDougall in AIATSIS 2003). It is required to comply with the administrative and financial requirements of the Aboriginal Land Regulation 1991 (Qld). The land held by the Trust is former Aboriginal reserve land at Port Stewart on the Cape York Peninsula.
