The Aboriginal Affairs Planning Authority was established pursuant to the Aboriginal Affairs Planning Authority Act 1972 (WA). Section 14 of that Act sets out the powers of the Authority which include:
- Power to confer and collaborate with Departments of the Commonwealth or States and other bodies or agencies having to do with Aboriginal affairs, for the purposes of the Act;
-Power to establish committees to investigate and report on any aspect of the Authority's functions;
-Power to invite any person, subject to approval of the Minister, to act in an advisory capacity to the Authority in relation to any of its functions. |
