The Martirendi Agreement is between the City of Salisbury and the Northern Metropolitan Aboriginal Council. It aims to ensure that Indigenous people living in Salisbury participate in all aspects of community life. This is a document of both symbolic significance and of substance. 'Martirende' is a Kaurna Aboriginal word meaning 'to embrace each other'.

The Agreement covers issues relating to reconciliation, recognition, communication and participation, arts, culture and heritage, sport and recreation, employment, social services and national and regional links. It acknowledges that both Councils will work together to identify strategies to improve the well-being of the Aboriginal community.
