The World Heritage Convention defines the kind of natural or cultural sites which can be considered for protection under the World Heritage List. The Convention sets out the duties of States Parties, explains how the World Heritage Fund is to be used, and sets out reporting obligations for States Parties regarding conservation of their World Heritage Properties.
