The Gingirana people are the registered Native Title Claimants in the Native Title Determination Application WAD6002/2003, filed on 7 December 2017. The court recognised the Gingirana People's ongoing connection with
approximately 12,153 square kilometres of land located in the western
perimeter of the Little Sandy Desert in Western Australia. In addition to the Native Title Determination, the Gingirana People have also formed an Indigenous Land Use Agreement with Sandfire Resources (Tribunal File No. WI2011/009). According to Gingirana man, Timmy Patterson, the term 'Gingirana' is the name of a hill kangaroo which travels through the Determination Area. This is an important symbol and significant place for the Gingirana People.
