The Natural Heritage Trust of Australia Act 1997 (Cth) establishes the Natural Heritage Trust of Australia Reserve and The Natural Heritage Trust Advisory Committee.
The main source of money for the Reserve is $1.35 billion from the partial sale of Telstra, and the main objective of the establishment of the Reserve is to conserve, repair and replenish Australia's natural capital infrastructure. Money in the Reserve will be spent on the environment, sustainable agriculture and natural resources management. |
