The Wet Tropics Management Plan 1998 (the Plan) aims to protect the Wet Tropics of Queensland World Heritage Area. The Plan is a regulation under the Wet Tropics World Heritage Protection and Management Act 1993. It consists of a zoning and permit scheme which regulates activities affecting World Heritage Values (Wet Tropics Management Authority, 2022). The Plan requires a review every ten years, ensuring it reflects current land and management practices to meet its obligations to protect the World Heritage values of the Wet Tropics area (Wet Tropics Management Authority, 2022). |
