The native title rights of the Eastern Maar people were recognised in Lovett on behalf of the Gunditjmara People v State of Victoria (No 5) [2011] FCA 932. The area of their native title rights is located in South West Victoria. It includes Warnambool, Port Fairy and the Great Ocean Road areas.
