The Redland Shire is located south east of Brisbane, alongside Moreton Bay. The Shire contains a diverse range of island villages and separate mainland townships bordering Brisbane's outer suburbs. It includes rural, bushland and foreshore areas. The Shire includes the south Moreton Bay islands of MacLeay, Lamb, Russell, Peel, Karragarra, Coochiemudlo and North Stradbroke Island (one of the world's largest sand islands and a popular tourist destination). |
