The Memorandum of Understanding between the Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) and TAFE NSW ('the MOU') 'provides the means by which the AHO and TAFE NSW can work in partnership with communities to deliver flexible, appropriate and relevant training in construction and related works through the development of safe and healthy housing' (AHO 2003).
The AHO developed the curriculum for a social housing training program specifically for Aboriginal people and Aboriginal communities. From 1998 to 2005, the program was known as 'HOME' ('Housing Our Mob Everywhere').
Under the MOU, TAFE NSW delivers the content of the training program as part of an accredited course - Certificate IV Community Services (Social Housing). |
