| Towards a Queensland Government and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ten Year Partnership is a process by which the Queensland Government and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Board (ATSIAB) are working together in partnership to develop plans with the aim of improving standards of living for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders over the next ten years. The partnership provides a comprehensive framework in which the efforts of various agencies are linked together in order to address the underlying social, cultural and economic issues that face Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Central to the Ten Year Partnership is the theme of 'building capacities'. |

| In consultation with the community, the Government and ATSIAB have identified key areas for action under the Ten Year Partnership and have proposed outcomes for each area. These areas are: justice; family violence; reconciliation; economic development; community governance; service delivery; human services and land, heritage and natural resources. Eight working groups and a senior level steering committee have been formed to work on the Ten Year Partnership. The Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Justice Agreement is the first part of this partnership framework. | |
