Frances Morphy

Frances Morphy is a Senior Research Fellow for the ATNS Project, working with Professor John Taylor at the ANU. Currently Frances is working on a population survey of north-east Arnhem Land, which is similar to a survey that had previously been carried out in the Fitzroy Valley.


Research Fellow/Project Manager

Judy Longbottom

Judy Longbottom is working part-time as a Research Fellow on this project. Judy has a broad ranging background, firstly in agriculture, and working on farms in UK, NZ and to a lesser extent Australia. A strong desire to work in international development led Judy to work with a small NGO in northern Ghana on soil conservation and improving agricultural productivity. With a Masters in Anthropology of Development at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London completed in 1996 Judy worked for 6 years for the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), a policy research institute in London. Her work focused largely on land tenure/land rights and land policy in Africa during this time. She has also worked on refugee resettlement issues in the US, for an applied anthropology unit at the University of Arizona.

Research Assistant

Emille Boulot

Emille Boulot has completed a Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Laws degree at Monash University. Her research interests are in the areas of regulation and governance concerning environmental law and native title. She joined the ATNS project in October 2011, and has been involved in updating the database and assisting the ATNS team with various research tasks.

Alice Bewley

Alice Bewley is in her final year of a Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Laws degree at Monash University. She worked with the ATNS project from April 2013 to November 2015 and undertook research tasks, database maintenance and management and general administrative tasks.

Nicole Stobart

Nicole Stobart has completed a Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Laws degree at Monash University. She joined the ATNS project in February 2012 and is responsible for database management and maintenance. She also undertakes research and general administrative tasks.
