Summary Information:
The Shire of Wiluna covers an area of approximately 184,000 square kilometres which is dominated by mining and pastoral interests. The town of Wiluna is the Shire's main centre and is located 966 kilometres north-east of Perth. The vision statement for the Shire is to be 'a united community, proud of its appearance, environmentally conscious, friendly and financially sustainable' (Shire of Wiluna, 'Vision Statement'). The Shire encompases several mining villages and aboriginal communities.
