Summary Information:
Jericho Shire is located in central western Queensland and comprises the townships of Jericho and Alpha. It is one of the largest cattle producing areas of the region. There are approximately 1,100 residents in the Shire. The Shire is divided by the Great Dividing range.

The aim of the Shire Council is 'to ensure that all citizens are provided with amenities and quality of life of the best possible standard' (Jericho Shire Council, Mission Statement).
