The Gurang Land Council (Aboriginal Corporation) is the Native Title Representative Body for a region that includes the towns of Rockhampton, Woorabinda, Gladstone, Biloela, Theodore, Taroom, Bundaberg, Eidsveld, Gayndah, Hervey Bay and Longreach. This region is the second largest of the NTRB areas in Queensland.
From 1 July 2008, this area will instead be represented in terms of native title services by Queensland South Native Title Services Ltd. This is part of a restructuring of NTRBs in Queensland, following a review by the federal government (NNTT 2008: 5). At this time, GLC(AC) will continue as an Aboriginal Corporation, but will no longer be recognised as an NTRB (Camilleri 2008).
