'The Buloke Shire is located in North Western Victoria, occupying an area of 8,000 square kilometres and with a population of 7939 people - almost 1 person per square kilometre!

The main townships within the shire: Birchip, Charlton, Donald, Sea Lake and Wycheproof, offer a comprehensive range of health, education and recreational facilities. The Buloke Shire Council has an office in each of the main towns. This ensures provision of a wide range of services within easy access to the community. Each office offers customer service as well as specialist functions.
