Summary Information: | |
The Dunolly Vineyard Indigenous Land Use Agreement enables a vineyard in central Victoria to be expanded. The Dja Dja Wurrung native title claim group of the area agree to a grant of Crown Land Licences under the Land Act 1958 (Vic), which provides more land for Dunnolly Ridge Estate's Vineyards. Without this agreement, the grant would have been invalid and the right to negotiate provisions of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) (NTA) would apply. Under the NTA any activity, such as a grant of land, that may affect native title rights is defined as a 'future act' and must comply with the future act provisions of the act in order to be valid. |
