The Mount Stretton Deed for Exploration was made between Normandy Exploration Ltd, Aboriginal Exploration and Development Pty Ltd, Bongoi Aboriginal Corporation, Northern Aboriginal Investment Corporation Pty Ltd, and the Northern Land Council.
The Deed provides for:
- protection and rehabilitation of the environment;
- training for Aboriginal people;
- mining; and
- compensation.
Compensation is payable to the traditional Aboriginal owners via the Northern Land Council and includes the reimbursement of costs for Council members or traditional Aboriginal owners for their responsibilities under the deed.
