Asia Pacific Transport Consortium (APTC), now Asia Pacific Transport Company, was awarded a 50-year build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) concession for the line, which will mainly be used for freight to and from the deepwater port at Darwin. APTC has awarded a number of contracts associated with the project: ADrail, for design and construction; Genesee & Wyoming for train operations, P&O for port operations and BJB (a Barclay Mowlem, John Holland and Brown & Root joint venture) for infrastructure maintenance. |
