The Monkey Mia Joint Venture was agreed between the Yadgalah Aboriginal Corporation, Indigenous Business Australia and the original owners of the Dolphin Resort.
ATSIC provided (AUD) $3.2 million to the Yadgalah Aboriginal Corporation to enable it to take a 23% share in the joint venture. Indigenous Business Australia will hold a 27% stake.
The agreement will create employment and training opportunities for Indigenous people in the area, and will expose Aboriginal culture to the international tourist marketplace. |
