'Alice Springs Hospital (ASH) is the Regional Base Hospital of the Central Australian Region covering a one million square kilometre catchment area. The Hospital provides a range of services not normally seen in a hospital of its size, yet essential for the diverse and scattered communities it serves.
The Hospital provides a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for both inpatients and outpatients.
The Hospital has secondary roles in staff education and training, research and health promotion, and in contributing to the regional development of health services.'
