From 1 July 2002, Nabalco Pty Ltd officially changed its name to Alcan Gove Pty Ltd.
Alcan Gove Pty Ltd manages the Gove Peninsula project that mines bauxite and processes the mined ore to alumina, all of which is exported to aluminium smelters. The initial investment of about (AUD) $2.5 billion (in today's dollars) and years of intensive effort have established a modern, high-tech alumina plant, port facilities, a township and regional centre on the peninsula. |
