The Aboriginal Lands Trust was set up to hold land under the Aboriginal Lands Trust Act 1966 (SA) to ensure that title to existing Aboriginal Reserves was able to be held in trust on behalf of all Aboriginal people in South Australia. The Government is also able to transfer other crown lands to be held by the Trust. The Trust is empowered to issue 99-year leases over lands held by it to an incorporated community body. |
