The parties to the Agreement on National Indigenous Housing Information as at 30 June 2000 were the:
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission;
Aboriginal Housing Office (New South Wales);
Australian Bureau of Statistics;
Australian Institute of Health and Welfare;
Commonwealth Department of Family and Community Services;
Department of Health and Human Services (Tasmania);
Department of Housing (Northern Territory);
Department of Housing (Queensland);
Department of Human Services (South Australia);
Department of Urban Services (ACT);
Ministry of Housing (WA), and
Torres Strait Regional Authority.
The Agreement is a multilateral agreement with the long term aim of providing a workable means of obtaining relevant Indigenous housing data. The objective of the Agreement is to provide a framework for information development relating to the housing status and needs of Indigenous people. It aims to improve the quality of and access to consistent and compatible Indigenous housing information by which to inform the development of strategies to improve Indigenous housing information at the national, regional and state level. |
