Summary Information:
On the 9 January 1979 the Commonwealth Minister for Trade and Resources granted an Authority pursuant to Section 41 of the Atomic Energy Act 1953 (Cth), to Peko-Wallsend Operations Ltd (Peko), Electrolytic Zinc Company of Australasia Limited (EZ) and the Australian Atomic Energy Commission (AAEC). The Authority allowed Peko, EZ and AAEC to carry on, as joint venturers, on behalf of the Commonwealth Government, operations on the Ranger Project Area for a period of 26 years subject to certain restrictions and conditions.
